Six CBA Players Ink Names on Soccer National Signing Day
Posted 02/03/2012 02:41PM

Six CBA soccer players signed National Letters of Intent on Wednesday, February 1, affording them the special opportunity to participate in Division I athletics next year.  Signing committments were Chris Thorsheim (Bucknell), Nick Villani (Lafayette), Scott Thomsen (Virginia), Bobby Cartas (UMass), Dan Pizzimenti (Monmouth), and Zach Hicks (Rider).

"This is a special day for all of us," said Thomsen, who scored the State Championship winning goal against Delbarton in November, giving the Colts their first title since 1998 and completing an undefeated 21-0 season.

Assistant Coach Jeff Matson spoke to the talent of this years team.  "It's rare that you get one or two D-I athletes on a team, but to have six shows just how special this group was."  CBA ended the season ranked No. 4 in the nation.  "I have no doubt they will be successfull collegiate athletes," Matson concluded.

Congratulations to our Colts and best of luck next year and in your collegiate careers.
