Junior Statesmen of America (JSA)

The goal of the Junior Statesmen of America is to give CBA students an avenue to engage in dialogue about politics and current events.

At each meeting, the club president leads a group discussion on select topics related to national and international events. Members are encouraged to suggest social, political, or economic issues that they would like to speak on. During election years, JSA sponsors school-wide mock primaries and presidential elections.

JSA meets two to three times a month, on alternating weeks. Students are required to attend 12 meetings per school year to be considered a member in good standing. Members can run for three officer positions and those running most present a short speech during the final meeting of the school year.

JSA offers students the chance to learn more about politics and share their points of view about current events with peers across all grade levels.
