Sports Turfgrass Groundskeeper - Full-Time / Year-Round Position

Reporting to the Director of Facilities, the Sports Turfgrass Groundskeeper maintains both natural and artificial turf and associated grounds of the campus athletic facilities across multiple sports (baseball, soccer, lacrosse, rugby, track, tennis, etc.), assesses field conditions and natural turf health, remediates diseases, and provides diversified maintenance. May perform other general usage grounds duties as assigned. 

Responsibilities: 

• Athletic Field maintenance, which includes (but not limited to) seeding, mowing, edging, aeration, fertilizer application, top dressing application, watering, infield skin, baselines, home plate, pitcher’s mound, bullpens, warning track, and lining. 
• Preparation of fields for game use by grooming, raking infield, painting lines, chalking base paths, foul lines, batters' box, marking coaching boxes, and other areas as dictated by the sport 
• Execute tarp removals and replacements 
• Ensure operation of field irrigation systems, make repairs where possible, or outsource repairs when necessary 
• Ensure equipment is serviced according to schedule 
• Maintain areas outside of the playing fields 
• Order and maintain supplies necessary for field and grounds operations 
• Other general facilities duties as assigned by the Director of Facilities 

Requirements: 

• Three years of prior Turfgrass Maintenance experience preferred
• Formal Turfgrass Management / Maintenance education preferred
• Ability to work evenings and weekends when required 
• NJ Driver's License Required 
• NJ Pesticide License Required (or the willingness/ability to obtain one) 
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to pass a full background investigation 
• Ability to lift and carry up to 60Lbs
