CBA Earns AP Gold for Third Straight Year

CBA Earns AP Gold for Third Straight Year
Jason Lutz

For the third consecutive year, the College Board announced that Christian Brothers Academy has been named to the Advanced Placement® Program (AP®) School Honor Roll, earning the Gold level distinction for 2025.

The AP School Honor Roll recognizes schools whose AP programs are delivering results for students while broadening access. Schools can earn this recognition annually based on criteria that reflect a commitment to increasing college-going culture, providing opportunities for students to earn college credit, and maximizing college readiness.

Last spring, the Academy administered over 700 AP Exams to students across all four grade levels.

Impressively, 91 percent of students scored a three or higher, which is five points higher than last year’s results. In total, 30 CBA faculty members were responsible for teaching 26 AP courses.

CBA had 138 members of the Class of 2025 who took at least one AP Exam during their time at the Academy, accounting for two-thirds of the senior class.

“We had another record year of AP Exams taken at CBA, which is a testament to our strong academic programming,” Principal Neil Begley ‘96 said. “I commend our students for striving for excellence in these rigorous courses and thank our dedicated faculty for preparing our students so well.”

ABOUT THE ADVANCED PLACEMENT PROGRAM

College Board’s Advanced Placement® Program (AP®) enables students to pursue college-level studies—with the opportunity to earn college credit, advanced placement, or both—while still in high school. Through AP courses in 38 subjects, each culminating in a challenging exam, students learn to think critically, construct solid arguments, and see many sides of an issue—skills that prepare them for college and beyond.
