Retreats

As part of CBA's mission to develop the whole person, retreats are an integral part of each student's spiritual development. Here at the Academy, every student is required to participate in a retreat each year.

                                      Freshman Year

The Freshman Retreat serves as a meaningful introduction to living a life of virtue, inspired by the example of St. John Baptist de La Salle. Held off-campus at St. Anselm’s retreat center, the day features talks from upperclassmen and faculty, celebration of  Mass, and time for reflection and fellowship, setting the foundation for a faith-filled journey at CBA.

Sophomore Year

Building on the freshman experience, the Sophomore Retreat challenges students to grow as Men for Others, with St. La Salle’s spirit of service and compassion at its core. Held once again at St. Anselm's, this retreat offers a day of prayer, reflection, and connection, helping students deepen their sense of purpose and responsibility to others.

Junior Year

The Junior Retreat prepares students for their senior year and the Kairos-style experience to come. Centered on the theme "A Path Toward Sainthood: A Blueprint for Ethical Living," the retreat invites students to reflect deeply on the power of their choices. Through talks, guided reflection, and prayer, juniors explore how their actions impact themselves and others, and how they can live in a way that reflects God’s love and purpose in the world.

                       Senior Year

The capstone of CBA’s retreat program, the Senior Retreat is a transformative, two-night experience modeled after the renowned Kairos retreat. Held at the serene San Alfonso Retreat House on the beach in Long Branch, this retreat gives students the space to pause, reflect, and recognize God’s presence in their lives. Through personal testimony, small group sharing, and prayer, seniors are invited to see their faith as a personal, loving relationship with God. They leave empowered to carry that love forward, to find God in all things and use their gifts to serve others as true builders of the community.
