We understand that your son’s high school education is an important decision for your family and we appreciate that you are considering Christian Brothers Academy.

As we review each applicant for admission, we take a comprehensive and holistic approach. While an assessment of each individual’s academic record is paramount in our process, we also look at the less tangible strengths of our prospective students – commitment to personal interests and activities and their demonstrated willingness to embrace a rigorous education. We know that the application process can seem daunting and we want to help.

Admissions Application Dates

Students interested in attending CBA submit an application in the fall of their 8th grade school year. The dates below are for those prospective 9th grade Colts who would begin CBA in the Fall of 2026.

Entrance Exam Fall 2025	October 25th & November 15th

Applicants receive their decision notification in December. The dates below are for those prospective 9th grade Colts who would begin CBA in the Fall of 2026.

All student sections of the application are due by Tuesday, November 25th. This includes the Personal Statement, Tell Us About Yourself Section, and Legacy Information - remember, this is where our applicants get to share more about who they are.

All school sections - those that the student's middle school must complete - should be emailed directly from your application portal as soon as possible to give the school enough time to process your requests. The school sections include the School Report & Recommendation (Transcript Upload included in this file) and Teacher Recommendation.

Personal Statement: The questions in this section allow students to share with the Admissions Committee details about their interests and service experiences. Students are much more than just their test scores and grades - this is where you can detail your talents and achievements. Through your words help us to learn what you'll bring to the Academy.

School Report, Transcript, & Teacher Recommendation

Official Transcript: This is the official record of your son’s grades in middle school. We ask for 6th & 7th grade transcripts and any updated 8th grade information at the time of submission. This is included in the “School Recommendation and Record Request” form- the individual you send that email request to will upload the transcripts to submit to CBA.

School Report: In your Application Checklist, you will see “School Recommendation and Records Release.” This form is to be emailed to the individual at your son’s middle school responsible for sending records to high schools. This is likely your son’s School Counselor or the Counseling Office in general- please check with your son’s middle school as to the appropriate person to receive this form electronically. A school official will fill out the form and send it directly to us by the deadline. This form helps us to better understand your school history and academic performance.

Teacher Recommendation: The CBA Admissions Committee encourages you to have a teacher write a letter of recommendation on your behalf. This letter tells us more about you, beyond what your grades can say, because it’s written by a teacher who knows what kind of student you are. The recommendation link is in your Applicant Checklist as “Teacher Recommendation” and should be emailed to a teacher you have first asked in person to write this letter.
