Earlier this month, members of Student Library Advisory Board (“SLAB”) visited the Learning & Language Disabled classes of Ms. Vasquez and Ms. Pecorelli at Red Bank Primary School. Their mission was to encourage reading to the students of these special classes. Each SLAB member was paired with a reading buddy to share a few books and reading time together.

Additional time was spent bonding while completing an Easter project and sharing a snack.  Before leaving, SLAB members presented each student with a book to take home that helps encourage a love of reading.

Usually, a Christmas service trip in December, this SLAB program has been so successful that Mr. Laugelli, Red Bank Primary School’s principal, and CBA alumni, had suggested a return Spring visit. Our CBA SLAB members enjoyed it so much they were happy to oblige.
