BERTO RIVERA ’15 NAMED TO NJ MONTHLY’S 2015 SEEDS OF HOPE HONOREES

Every year, New Jersey Monthly names several individuals as its Seeds of Hope honorees. These proactive figures in our state go above and beyond to support our communities and local organizations. In this month’s issue of NJ Monthly, we are proud to see young alum Norberto Rivera ’15 as one of the 2015 Seeds of Hope honorees.

Currently in his freshman year at Seton Hall University, Berto has been dedicating much of his time for the last 8 years toward supporting the Joan Darcy and PALS Foundation, a nonprofit that helps patients with ALS. He is the youngest member of the Valentine Plunge committee board and recently underwent an intense six week program to free up time for his foundation work during school.

Rivera’s tremendous service and work ethic has also been recognized in his receiving the 2015 Horatio Alger Scholar Award, along with scholarships from the 2015 National Puerto Rican Day Parade, the Spring Lake Brielle Rotary Club, the Latino American Association of Monmouth County, the Hispanic Business Council of New Jersey, and The Community Foundation of New Jersey, among others.
