On Wednesday, May 18, 2017, the Most Reverend David O’Connell, Bishop of Trenton, joined CBA’s Class of 2017 at Mary Mother of God Church to celebrate their Baccalaureate Liturgy. The mass, held on the eve of graduation, marks the students’ final mass together before taking the next step of their educational journey.
Bishop O’Connell spoke of the need to put faith into action, remember the lessons learned at CBA, and to remain a person of integrity.
Principal R. Ross Fales delivered opening and closing remarks, reminding the students that no great journey is ever made alone. As has become tradition, the young men were each given a white rose to bring back to their mother—an acknowledgement of the sacrifices they make so their sons can enjoy the many opportunities high school offers.
CBA’s Class of 2017 will perform graduation exercises on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at Brookdale Community College.
About CBA’s Focus on Faith:
The prayer life of our students is informed by a solid program of religious instruction. While academically rigorous, the faculty of the Theology department never truly separates the object and the subject of study. Religion-focused courses do more than merely feed the head.
Christian Brothers Academy is fortunate to have three Chaplains, and a Campus Minister. Father Gary Koch, Father Richard Vila, and Father John Zec are instrumental in the CBA community’s celebration of both daily and schoolwide liturgies throughout the school year. Mr. Timothy Sewnig, a member of the Theology faculty since 1991, also serves as the school’s Director of Campus Ministry. Learn more here.
