CBA Earns Gold Honor Roll Distinction for AP Scores
October 29, 2024

College Board announced that Christian Brothers Academy has been named to the 2024 Advanced Placement® Program (AP®) School Honor Roll, earning the Gold level distinction.
The AP School Honor Roll recognizes schools whose AP programs are delivering results for students while broadening access. Schools can earn this recognition annually based on criteria that reflect a commitment to increasing college-going culture, providing opportunities for students to earn college credit, and maximizing college readiness.
In May 2024, CBA administered over 600 AP Exams to students across all grade levels. Impressively, 86 percent of students scored a three or higher, while 58 percent of students earned a four or higher. In total, 30 CBA faculty members are responsible for teaching 26 AP courses.
CBA had 134 members of the Class of 2024 who took at least one AP Exam during their time at the Academy, with 96 seniors scoring a three or higher on at least one AP Exam.
“In a year when we had our largest amount of AP students, it is especially impressive to see these excellent scores,” Principal Neil Begley ’96 said. “The success on these exams demonstrates the dedication to academic excellence of both our students and teachers.”
It is the second consecutive year that CBA has earned the Gold AP distinction from College Board.
ABOUT THE ADVANCED PLACEMENT PROGRAM
College Board’s Advanced Placement® Program (AP®) enables students to pursue college-level studies—with the opportunity to earn college credit, advanced placement, or both—while still in high school. Through AP courses in 38 subjects, each culminating in a challenging exam, students learn to think critically, construct solid arguments, and see many sides of an issue—skills that prepare them for college and beyond.
