CBA Welcomes Class of 2025 with Virtual Presentation
February 26, 2021
Christian Brothers Academy held its annual Welcome Night in a virtual fashion to celebrate the addition of over 225 new families to the CBA community.
“While we can’t gather this evening as a group in person, we could not let this momentous occasion go by without the recognition it deserves,” said Director of Enrollment Management Jennifer Maccarella as she opened the presentation. “We are reminded how important it is to celebrate each moment, the small and the big. This is one of those big moments.”
The presentation featured addresses by Principal Ross Fales and President Brother Frank Byrne, who welcomed both the students and their parents to the CBA family.
“On this Zoom tonight, there are people you don’t even know that will end up being your lifelong friends,” Fales told the students.
Two current Academy men took a few minutes to speak to the incoming class as well, senior Ryan O’Connor and sophomore Conor Doogan.
“If you truly want to appreciate your time at CBA, then get involved,” O’Connor said. “Don’t be afraid, don’t hold back, and jump right in. Enjoy your time here, it’ll go by faster than you think.”
After the presentations, the incoming students were able to sit in on three different virtual breakout rooms. Associate Principal Sean Nunan moderated an academic session, Dean of Campus Life Maureen Szablewski and Dean of Students Matt Meehan facilitated an Academy Life session, and Director of Athletics Mike Mazzaccaro ran the athletics session. All of the breakout rooms featured multiple student ambassadors to answer questions about their experiences as Colts.
