Once again, CBA World Language students demonstrated their generosity and caring for those less fortunate by donating over 200 toys and $470.00 in gift cards to the annual World Language Department toy drive. Toys and gift certificates were collected by each World Language teacher for children of various ages from November 30 to December 11. The toys were then distributed through the local parishes.
This year, toys went to Jesus the Lord Parish in Keyport, St. Anthony of Padua Church in Red Bank and Church of the Ascension in Bradley Beach. The receiving parishes, which depend on our donations, were grateful not only for the quantity but quality of the gifts.
For many, the holiday season brings with it much stress and disappointment, especially for those dealing with financial burdens and uncertain futures. A small donation or act of kindness can go a long way to helping someone who might not otherwise receive such a benefit.
Once again, our Academy men stepped up and helped spread that positive energy and Christmas cheer, which can and does make a difference.
The World Language Department would like to thank those many students and families who supported the drive this year and over the years.
