March Madness Giving Challenge Returns March 16

The time has come… brackets are printed and predictions made… the CBA March Madness Challenge is finally here! Play a REAL part in your class’s chance to take home the trophy while you root for your favorite college teams on television.

Our 6th annual March Madness Challenge debuts on Wednesday, March 16. Show your support, accept the challenge, and help us prove to all why our alma mater has the greatest alumni network of any school in America. Our goal this year is 450 alumni participants and to raise $50,000.

The Reason

The CBA tradition reaches far and wide. Generations of brothers are in every industry, every state and throughout the world. Every Academy man can attest to effect the power of this community, this place, this tradition, has on a young man. We were all once freshman entering a new environment, seeking to challenge ourselves with a Lasallian education. What better way to guarantee that experience for the next generation of Academy men than with some friendly class competition? We seek to unite our brothers together, in one strong showing of support.

In 2021, new heights were reached with close to 400 participants and a record over $40,000 raised in a 24 hour period. Once again, the Class of 1984 remained dominant, beating the second place Class of 2011 by 100 points. Who will challenge the 1984 dynasty and hoist the trophy high at the Winner’s Celebration?

The Rules

All 58 graduated classes will participate in this ONE DAY, winner take all giving challenge on Wednesday, March 16.

How to Play:

  • Donate and earn 1 point for your class. Alumni may donate multiple times throughout the day to earn donation mega-marks, but will only count as one participation point. (min. $10 donation).*

The Rewards

The Best Class in Academy History!
The winning class will receive an invitation and very special recognition at our March Madness Winner’s Celebration on June 10th. The top four classes will be our guests at this event, but only one class year will be recognized as “Challenge Champion.” Will anyone dethrone 2021’s winner, the Class of 1984?

All gifts made in response to this challenge will become part of The Fund for The Academy, assisting our school with the resources needed to provide the full CBA experience for our current and future Colts. All donations will be recognized in the 2021 Annual Report, due out late next fall.
