Pipes & Drums Receives Performance Award at Rumson Parade

After a tremendous performance at the Rumson St. Patrick’s Day Parade, the parade committee announced that the Christian Brothers Academy Pipes & Drums Band was the recipient of the parade’s “President’s Award.”

The award recognizes a tremendous performance by a group in the annual parade. It is the second time in the band’s history that they have won an award at this parade. In 2013, CBA won the “Best Junior Band” award.

With 28 members participating this year, it shows a great development for the band over the past few years. When CBA won the junior band award in 2013, there were just nine students participating.

Just this past week, the band was featured in the Two River Times, noting the fact that CBA has one of the few high school pipes & drums bands in the country.

The band will next play on March 24th at the Keyport St. Patrick’s Day Parade.
