Scholarship Clambake Draws Great Crowd Despite Weather Relocation

Over 200 members of the CBA community gathered in the McKay Gym on September 6th for annual CBA Scholarship Clambake, presented by the Alumni Association.

Despite the weather forcing a location change from Conover Pavilion, it was another wonderful start to the CBA school year as a great crowd of current & past parents, alumni and friends of the Academy enjoyed a fun night. A beach-themed feast of lobster, a raw bar, steak, and more were provided by Rick Bott ’72 and his staff at MerriMakers.

As has been the tradition at the Clambake, the night included a gift-basket auction and a high-end silent auction. The prizes included weekend get-aways at beautiful bed and breakfasts and tropical locations. Other popular prizes were sporting event tickets, athlete and team memorabilia, golf outings, and fine wines, among others.

Alumni Association scholarships are full scholarships that are based on financial need, academics, community service and a commitment to others. Applicants interview with members of the Alumni Association Board of Trustees each winter for selection for the following school year.
