YOUNG ALUM WHELAN ’10 PROVES COLTS CAN HAVE COMMUNITY IMPACT EARLY ON

Michael Whelan ’10 is continuing to prove that Academy men don’t have to wait to get involved in the political sphere.
Recently, State Senator Jennifer Beck selected Whelan along with Ocean Township Deputy Mayor Rob Accera Sr. to run on her ticket for New Jersey State Assembly.
Whelan currently serves as Councilman of Red Bank, recently ranked by Trulia.com as one of the top 10 best value suburbs to live in the country. As part of his public duties, Whelan serves as police and fire commissioner as well as liaison to downtown promotion agency Red Bank RiverCenter, responsible for business development in the locality.
The Academy alum, who works as an insurance agent in Metuchen, became the youngest Councilman in Red Bank history after a close victory in November 2015.

As leaders in the community, Academy men have the chance to start changing the world. Alumni like Whelan serve as an example that Colts need not postpone such involvement.
