The Academy Oath is an expression of the Lasallian values that we learn and live at Christian Brothers Academy. It represents the school’s pride in its tradition and commitment to its principles. The Oath was designed to be brief with strong, simple language so that our students could commit the Oath, and the principles it embodies, to heart. At the beginning of every school year, we as a community renew our commitment to the principles of the Oath with a school-wide recitation.
Each freshman class take part in Oath Day, where they learn about what it takes to be an Academy man before committing to the explained values by signing the Academy Oath.
The freshmen participate in two breakout sessions where they further discuss what the Academy Oath stands for: honor, integrity, service and knowledge.
To culminate Oath Day program, the entire student body joins together in the varsity gym to watch the freshmen sign their Academy Oath, which is displayed in the main lobby alongside the senior, junior and sophomore classes’ oaths. The entire student body recites the Academy Oath as whole at the end of the ceremony.
