The Academy Fund donors at all levels will be recognized in CBA’s Annual Report, published in the fall following the close of the school’s fiscal year on June 30.
Gifts of $100,000+
St. John Baptist de la Salle (1651-1719) founded the Institute of the Brothers of the Christian Schools in France in the years between 1679 and 1719. Today, nearly one million students attend Lasallian schools, colleges and university in some 80 countries around the world.
Gifts of $50,000+
The Brothers of the Christian Schools undertook the administration and staffing of Christian Brothers Academy at its founding in 1959, and to date, have educated more than 11,000 CBA graduates.
Gifts of $25,000+
Brother Bernard McKenna, F.S.C. (1914-91) was the first Principal of Christian Brothers Academy, serving in that office from 1959 to 1965, and as a member of the math faculty in the 1970s-80s.
Gifts of $10,000+
Brother Andrew O’Gara, F.S.C. (1928-2008) was Principal of Christian Brothers Academy from 1979 until 1991, when he became the Academy’s first President.
Gifts of $5,000+
Brother Frank Byrne, FSC, a member of CBA’s class of 1976, returned to his alma mater in 2009 as President and served in that role until 2021.
Christian Brothers Academy was founded in 1959 through the initiative of Peter Fleming, John C. Henderson and Dr. George Sheehan, under the auspice of the Brothers of the Christian Schools, New York District and with the generous support of hundreds of local parents.
