New Elective Programming at CBA

FINE ARTS

“Art is a huge part of a holistic education. When you are talking about educating the whole person and preparing students for a college environment, you have to teach, in an academic way, the arts. Sometimes there is this thought that art is only about natural talent, but we all have something to learn so we start with the basics.”

– Victoria Meehan, Art Club Moderator & AP Art History Teacher

Christian Brothers Academy has been proud to have talented students who are painters and artists, as well as graphic designers and photographers. In the formative years of the Academy, students expressed their artistic talents through murals in and around the cafeteria. That trend was restarted decades later when a student painted St. La Salle on the wall in Room 405. In 2021, Will DiResta ’24 drew the artwork for the Lasallian District of Eastern North America’s Christmas card.

The Art Club has been a popular outlet for students in the past few years, demonstrating the need for fine arts courses in CBA’s daily curriculum.

Beginning with the 2024-2025 school year, students from freshman to senior year will be able to enroll in a variety of courses in the Fine Arts. Listen to some of our students speak about their experiences in the video below and check out the courses that are projected to be offered in 2024-2025.
