Admission Process

At CBA, the admissions season runs from September to January of a given academic year. Applicants typically apply in the fall prior to their year of actual enrollment. Although most students enter CBA in ninth grade, several openings may be available each year to tenth grade students.

The first step in the admissions process is to register for the Entrance Examination. A boy’s candidacy for admission will only be considered after he applies for and takes our Entrance Exam. Our Open House event in October is the first opportunity for prospective families to register their son for the Exam. There is a $75 registration fee to take the Entrance Exam.

The Exam is typically administered in late October/early November. The Exam score serves as the basis for admittance to the Academy, in conjunction with grade reports received from the applicant’s seventh and eigth grade classes. The Admissions Committee meets formally in late December regarding decisions to accept, waitlist, or decline each applicant. Families are notified of decisions by the first week of January. Admissions decisions may take place as late as August.
