Model UN

Model United Nations at the Academy gives students a glimpse of what it is like to work in the wide world of international relations.

Model UN students explore international affairs in a simulated United Nations setting, practicing important skills such as research methods and public speaking. Students take part in group meetings, research presentations and attend Model UN conferences in the region. The CBA Model UN hosts a Middle School Model UN conference at the Academy in the fall.

In the past, CBA students have won awards at regional conference that include:

  • Best Delegate, North American Invitational Model UN
  • Best Position Paper, Boston Model UN
  • Honorable Mention, Boston Model UN

The club attends four to five Model UN conference per year. Students must attend at least one conference and participate in the Middle School Model UN conference to be considered in good standing. Those students can be elected as a club officer with approval of the moderator.
