The Academy Torch

Members of The Academy Torch focus on generating content for the school newspaper, which is published several times throughout the school year. Students meet as part of the journalism course led by Ms. Biloholowski as well as in out-of-class meetings to discuss story ideas, write articles, edit drafts and produce each issue. Additionally, editors meet with the moderator to work on the paper’s layout. Torch officers are chosen by the moderator after submitting an application, and students must actively contribute in class and in the production process to be in good standing.

This year, members of The Academy Torch’s editorial team attended the annual Scholastic Media Conference held at Columbia University.
